Knowledge as per definition by Merriam-Webster is the fact or condition of being aware of something with familiarity gained through experience.
When you go through the day, you may be as surprised when you unwrap a gift and find out what’s inside. Everyday we all have our own serving of dilemmas and problems. We all have our own serving of snags just as when we encounter an unfamiliar math problem in the exam or conundrums as when we don’t know what to forego— work or study. The aforementioned situations require the skills to make better decisions. One of which is knowledge.
“Our brains are what makes us superior; it’s an evolutionary adaption that we, as a species, have developed as a means not only to survive, but also to flourish.” (Hudson,2014) As humans, we are born to think, to learn and to innovate. Choosing to remain ignorant goes against human nature. Just as the character of the story, the husband, Mansumandig had commited. Mansumandig had no idea on how to flourish his money. That is why without information and knowledge, you can’t get ahead in life. Knowledge gives a person ability to understand, analyze, make better decisions and evolve most intelligent thoughts. Knowing Mansumandig had failed on their business, the wife had to make an action point on how to boom their capital. So, she made a better decision that turns out to be successful. As a result, it gives them feeling of well being and helps improve their lives. Man that has mind brimming with knowledge can help him manage the ups and downs of life. Without knowledge, we cannot make progress. Attaining said information isn’t easy, either, because it requires time and efforts.
Francis Bacon has said that knowledge is itself a power, having ability to change everything. Knowledge gives way to handle situation, to make plan, the way to implement plan and make impossible things possible. We have the resources and the tools to find something better, something more convenient. Everyone has the ability to get knowledge through experience, education, predecessors, etc. The more we live, the more we experience, the more we learn, the more knowledge we attain and the more we change as a result. We have the power to use the knowledge wisely in order to create a better life. “Knowledge opens the eyes of people and opens all the way to success.” (Hudson,2014)
